What kind of trader were you wanting to become? For instance, I trade my own stock portfolio, but I am a bond trader. You can trade futures, shorts, commons, mutuals, index's, bonds, commodities, etc etc. If you're a bit more specific maybe I can help you a bit more. Also a word to the wise, T/A only holds so much water as a trader. If you're a serious futures trader, news will make you a lot more money than just T/A, of course not saying T/A is not important.
