Business Summary: Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) makes well-regarded processors for customers such as Hewlett-Packard, Sony, and Dell, but it remains a distant #2 in PC and server microprocessors behind Intel.

AMD, in the past, has at times eroded Intel's market share, thanks to the popularity of its PC-powering Athlon and Opteron processor families, as well as its newer A-series of processors that combine computing and graphics on a chip.

In addition to its computing solutions, the company generates more than 40% of sales from embedded processors and other chips for enterprise, and semi-customized design.

Most of AMD's sales are from international customers with China as its single biggest market.

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., incorporated on May 1, 1969, is a global semiconductor company with facilities across the world.

I played AMD a while back. I love their products and was hoping for a big win.

Ended up exiting about 50 bucks higher than what I went in with. Not the turn over I was hoping for but and enjoyable ride all the same.

Another dive today for a big company...

I have had this in my pincher watch file for a few days... The odds for profit are getting better unless they have a BK up their sleeve...

I'm a pretty big fan of this company.  Them and Intel have a healthy competitive battle, I'd say half of the PC's I've built are with AMD chips, and other half with Intel depending on who was the best for the price at that moment in time.  Intel has been spanking them a bit lately, but I don't expect that to be forever.

If this isn't a capitulation, and, this strong down trend continues, a BK may be near.

Lost 75% of the value in 6 months, too much.
