A little help for noob
« on: March 24, 2008, 04:33:31 PM »
OK. i'll post this here cause i don't wanna disrupt the chat between people who are discussing more important issues.

This is my first day on the forum and the start of my second week actually paying attention to the stock market.

I have been reading all the forums trying to understand the points and predictions people make and why they make them... and i noticed that people refer to where the resistance is and the help is.  A sentence would typically say, "resistance or help at .71 and .95." (just and example)

I was wondering if some could explain to me what "resistance" and "help" are and exactly what implications it may have on a stock that is approaching either the resistance or the help.

it probably seems like a very silly questions, but in honesty... I don't know, so I'll ask.

Thanks

danny

dewbieJ. first let me say welcome to the forum!

second and more important:

you said: "probably seems like a very silly questions, but in honesty... I don't know, so I'll ask."

there is no such thing as a stupid question! stupid would be to NOT ask and stay without knowledge.
when i started in this market, i knew nothing, like everybody else who is new to a thing. what did i to learn?
i asked and asked questions, as much as i could, sometimes people laughed at me or didnt even response, but today, just 1 year later, i am the global moderator of this forum and i assist DrPennyStock here. i think i can say that i know about TA (TechnicalAnalysis/Chartreading) well.

so i encourage you to stay here on this board and to ask a lot of questions, so you´ll learn a lot and i am sure that somebody else reading your question and the answer to it will learn of it too ;)
