Newb questions...
« on: July 24, 2008, 11:06:26 PM »
Been learning alot here and had a few questions:

1)  What is the average time for holding your stocks?

2)  Do you typically wait for a breakout, or do you have set percentages that you sell at?

3)  What websites do you find most helpful (stockcharts.com seems to be the favorite), and do you use the preset screeners or do you have your own?

Thanks for all your help.  Since following the site, I've made about 15% profit.  Looking to gain much more in the near future.
I settle for 25%.

2)  Do you typically wait for a breakout, or do you have set percentages that you sell at?

>>>> sometimes I try to place a gamble but I alway wait for the breakout before I put real money in to them

3)  What websites do you find most helpful (stockcharts.com seems to be the favorite), and do you use the preset screeners or do you have your own?

1) - It depends, it goes from just minutes (when I daytrade) to several weeks sometimes, but, the ideal time-frame to hold a stock is about 3 - 4 days, it's not always possible.

2) - Again, it depends, with my experience trading penny stocks, I tend to risk sometimes without a breakout when my "crystal ball" show me the future of the chart  ;), but, with other stocks that are not so volatile and when I feel weakness on the chart, I wait for a breakout, it depends of the pattern of the stock (volatility, momentum, past behavior and a few other indicators.

3) - Stick with stockcharts.com and forget all the rest, it's the BEST you can find on the internet, I have my own screeners, look the chart below to see what I use and I strongly advice, stick with that and FORGET all the others, T/A is easy, don't complicate.
