Newb questions
« on: May 27, 2008, 02:14:35 PM »
My first question is how do you make any money on penny stocks? I seem to be getting eaten by the commissions, I use Scottrade. I see the site is sponsored or there is a big push for zecco, but reviews of them seem to be a bit on the less than stellar side.

How long do you normally hold penny stocks? I use to trading higher cap stocks that I hold onto for a year or more.

I am hear to learn, so any advice would be great.

Thank you.

the time i hold a pennystock depends totally on who it looks TA-wise (TA = Technical Analysis).
if TA shows me it is having a great run i dont see a sign of turn i hold to make more profit. if TA shows it will go down, like breaking a supportline, i sell.

sometimes we hold stocks not more than 1 or 2 days, sometimes we hold em for a week or two. but rarely longer than that.
dont forget, most pennystocks are crapcompanies which we just trade, we dont invest ;)

broker: i think zecco looks good, i use lowtrades.com, they are cheap but dont offer any real software.

Thank you for the reply.

I have a 3500 share limit purchase of NSOL @ .17 pending with Scottrade and the estimated commission is $9.51. They tack on extra fees for <$1.00 shares, that is why I floated the question about other firms.
