Pincher Scans

This is a basic one I have been playing with to scan for possible pincher plays.. Hopefully some of you guys can help fine tune things where needed... This scan was created with a paid memership at StockCharts... I'm sure there free scan sites available on the web also...

That's great info Vegas. I've been playing with some of the scans from the House of Pinchers on IHUB. Now I'll include yours in the mix and see if I can contribute a little around here. Yours seems to be more user friendly.

I actually tried all of their published scans but could never get any results... That is why I reduced the criteria and decided to keep it simple... After the scan, I plug them into my regular pincher chart for further evaluation...

I use that formula too Vegas almost exact  too bad there aren't hardly any pinchers out there right now. I also use scans to find volume increase, Par Sar being broken, 52 week low and the MACD being crossed to the upside. Since there aren't many pinchers right now, maybe everyone can share how they find stocks with lots of momo. Doc too, but on the gold members board

A couple of things I don't like about it is that it pulls up stocks that haven't even traded for months and also I would like to be able to put limits on the price as I really don't care for pinchers that trade above 3.00...

Just change the Exchange to search on the other exchanges, this is how I search for possible pinchers.

[type = stock] and [daily sma(1,daily volume) > 60000] and [country  is US] and [RSI (14) < 30.0] and [PPO Line (12,26,9) < -5.0] and [ADX Line (14) > 40.0] and [High  < 3.00]

This should give you what you are looking for.

Thanks Stretcher... Much better... Not sure how I missed that but I did... I agree, the pinchers have dried up quite a bit as every stock there is has dumped in recent months...

This has been working out pretty good Stretcher... It has produced a few winners... Looks like the true pinchers may be on the increase...

Is there a way to access retroactive data from a stockcharts account using pincher scans? Like certain criteria of data over a restricted timeframe?

I have not tried to do that myself Trelly as I am a fairly lazy trader so I thrive on simplicity...   Maybe Stretch has? He is pretty good with Stockcharts scans, etc...
