I am going to try adding the par sar as a confirmation for my pincher plays... I may not catch the very top or the very bottom but it might save wasting time on dead ends such as CHTR... I will start testing it out on my plays...

Basically, If the trend is up, buy when the SAR crosses below the price. If the trend is down, sell when the SAR crosses above the price. I will see if this helps narrow the buy/sell dilemna out a bit...

This is the chart I always use to watch for my plays... You can save it to your desktop and use it to check your plays... Just change the symbol to check your stock... I can't show it with the par sar as it is a chart I stole and it won't post right on here if I add the par sar... To use the par sar, I change the bollinger band overlay to par sar once I have the chart open...

I checked out the par sar theory on several pinchers I have played in the past. The SAR seems to work pretty well as a buy confirmation but the price seems to drop a bit too much to use it as a sell signal... Huh

Here is an example on a pincher I played that pinched on the 18th of September... Add the par sar to the chart like I stated above and you can get an idea what I am talking about...

Vegas,

Thank you so much for the Par Sar information, I think you are really onto something. I will add this to my charting technics also. Oh by the way Im still holding CHTR , You think its a dead bird since it has no volume or is it the MM,s.

I don't change the parameters on my chart. I just change the bollinger bands to par sar...

Got it,  I added Par Sar to all my charts and reviewed them. It appears Par Sar should inform you that the trend is coming off of the bottom and hopefully in time to catch a run up. I looked at several charts that I would have or did get in before the Par Sar confirmed time of entry. IVAN and CHTR were examples.

Here are some of Jacks picks from yesterday which have the price just crossing over Par Sar today:

HCM, AERG , CSAR, GTCB , UNCL

It will be interesting to see how these perform.

Is it just me or is this thread exactly the same as the "pincher plays" thread... I think it would be better I if "pincher plays" was deleted and replaced with a "technicals only" thread... Might be helpful to a lot of the guys... Just my humble opinion... Cheesy

Vegas, this is the General Discussion area for Pincher Plays.  I think it's appropriate for pinchers to have their own board, there seems to be a lot of interest in pinchers only.  T/A plays other than pinchers can be posted on the boards for the different exchanges.

That's just my opinion also.  I'm merely a minion Smiley

These are all pinchers only threads in this forum... I know what your saying but the exact stuff is being posted in both... It's like the same thread divided in half...

They should anounce the Auto bail out that should give the USD a temporary fix for a few days.
