You happen to know which virus it is Vegas?

I think it all revolves around this little adware estalive... I have Pest Patrol Corp which is the only one that finds it out of a few. It deletes it but it keeps coming back... It or something actually changes the proxy setting in the LAN cofig and blocks access to the internet... It also diverts all Google searchs to an advertisement page... It also took out all of my passwords to forums, bank. etc... I seem to get it all and it shows up again and blocks the LAN proxy... A real pain in the ass...

Anyhow, I have everything backed up so I will probably just end up doing a clean format on this machine...

I had one similar to that at my shop computer. Once I located it, I did a search of my hard drive using the name and found that it was being deleted by the 4th spyware I tried, but there was a small file in another location that would reinstall the damn thing after it was deleted. I deleted the virus first, then deleted the other file, did another check and it was finally gone.  or maybe the file first and then the virus...hell, I ain't young like you I just remember it took all day.... Grin

I have been chasing this one for several days Smitty... I am fairly computer saavy but this mother is buried somewhere deep... I have done several harddrive searches when I get a name or location. I run Norton Anti-Virus Corporate edition, Pest Patrol Corporate edition, Spyware Doctor, Lavasoft Adaware... I just can't seem to get to the root file... I seem to get everything and the next thing I know, Google is being hijacked again... It also likes to change my home page from blank to MSN... Undecided

I deal with this crap every day.  Here's a couple you can try. I own an IT support company and use them almost daily.

http://www.superantispyware.com
http://www.malwarebytes.org

Both are free.  Good luck.

I think I finally got everything... Knock on wood... After reading several internet geek forums, I downloaded a software called StopZilla... It found the root files and seems to have eradicated them... These files were not being found by about 4 other programs I usually run... I give it a thumbs up if everything holds... Huh

ps: Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys...

I'm new to trading and new to this forum, but I find your discussions fascinating. I made some decent money on CORS a couple weeks ago and purchased more of it at .23. Now there's talk about the FDIC seizing it. Isn't this something to be concerned with? I hear no discussion of it on this forum or from Dr. Pennystock. Thanks

I will settle at this point for .30 to break even... Tired of sitting on it...
