Well, I can understand both attitudes. It's good to have a large base of readers (and the challenge account, as well as the FREE status certainly attribute to get new and interested investors). On the other site, no one likes those bashers infesting every bigger board - this can and will sooner or later destroy Doc's whole philosophy of this site.

So why not propose a FREE test-ride of, let's say, 4 weeks.. And the necessity to pay a monthly or yearly fee after this test ride..This way newbies could easily make sure if this site is worth it or not and try everything out.. The only thing is : One has to well contrive the registration process in order to avoid bashers and dishonest people just to sign in with a new nickname / email-adress every 4 weeks... Just a thought.

For another side, we have the example of IHUB that ask for $12 just to post more than 15 posts daily, you pay just to post freely on that forum, you don't pay any kind of information, bad or good, zero, just compare with the info I give here, compare the value of the both things, I give real valuable info able to make thousands and guiding you to a million dollars step by step, on the other side you pay just to post in a forum without limits, how much is the value of my info, compared with this?

For rebounding on this , i want to post the copy of my e-mail  saturday:

"
Hello Doc  Wink  ,

In the first place, congratulations to have saturated your server  Grin  , It is the price of fame!   Cool

Technically, I think that it's worth the trouble to rise of category!

At the financial level, I think that a contribution of member of the order of 15 - 25 $ a month would be accessible to all and would remain completely competitive.
I am favorable to the fact that the forum is reserved for the members what would take away pumpers, spam and others and would base one .

Having said that, the aforesaid offer should make the list of the uncountable information which we can find there (technical analyses,  shorts, options, opinion in real time, etc.) so that the Internet user does not say to itself that he has to pay just to post his messages... A simple copy of the homepage of the forum would make the affair.
The daily advice of DrPennystock has to remain accessible to all, as well as Twitter connected in For the 1 million challenge, which incidentally puts certain time to update...

it is up to you to enrich the public offer or the display of the blog for a better attractiveness in the purchase of the membership.

Know that I am very attached to the success of your site  Smiley    and that you can count me among your most fervent supporters!

In quite soon on Web!!!   Wink

 Best thoughts .

Looks like the DOW will close above 10,000 that's a plus going into tomorrow.

This 10000 is a very important support, i think it will not be crushed  like that   Wink  Grin  .... If this support not resist, see you  @  8000 .... Undecided

Doc,
Whatever you decide to do with the forum, I also will be along for the ride.   Grin

This is important, but we cannot let this situation interfere in any way with the 1,000,000 challenge...

You are correct about human nature.  You will not receive as many 100K donations as you deserve.  But if we come anywhere close to our goal I think you will get more then the 3K forum fees and more then any membership service you set up.  But like I said whatever you decide, I enjoy the forum very much.

I never knew having a website was so expensive.  I thought as your visitor count grew you would make more money. :'(

My opinion is this.  Doc has alot of "valuable" information on this board.  I have learned mostly everything i know from reading here.  AS most of you know i have took what i have learned from here and ventured on to the options world and have became successful at that.

As far as how much should you charge, i think your information is worth alot to some people, but others might not be willing to pay.  I am a penny pincher.  The only thing i pay ( or have ever payed for ) for is a subscription to stockcharts.com to be able to run scans, if it wasnt for the scans i would not have this subscription.
I visit Ihub daily also but I never got a subscription to it.
I came to your site because it was good info for free, as im sure everybody else did.  If i were in your shoes, i would charge a "small" monthly fee for your private information boards.  If you charge to much you might turn people away. Say you charge $20 a month ( which is reasonable) you may get 1,000 subscribers ( for example) so thats 20,000 a month.  But lets say you charge $10 a month, alot more people will think that is a bargain so not only will you have the 1,000 subcribers willing to pay 20, you will also get the people you wanted the info but didnt want to pay the $20 a month but $10 is alot more reasonable to them.

So my point is, i think if you charge less, you will get the same amount of money coming in +/- a little but you will have more followers

DZ, if you were referring to my use of the word "invaluable" on the other thread, it means "too valuable to calculate" not lacking in value. Just wanted to be clear on that...

Doc, I truly believe with the economy and constant volatility that the large 3 and 4 baggers may be out of the question for awhile.  I would be satisfied with daily trades of 10%-15%.  After a month, we'd still be on a great path.  I just think the long term holds are killing us.  We hold with sustainable increases, just to see them wiped away.  Just my opinion, but as the stats are showing, viewership is down, and the 1,000,000 agendas, although realistic and feasible, are just not happening.

I believe smaller gains, and daily trades will at least bring my comfort level back to making money, and not just throwing it down the drain.  You can truly do as you well please (it's your board by the way  Grin), but I think this would bring renewed confidence and assurance.

KC, that's a good suggestion, and it would be even a better one if we all had daytrading accounts.

But I think Doc can net 25% per week even without daytrading.

Doc?
